Background

In the countdown to Energy Trading Week – taking place NEXT WEEK on 28-29 September at County Hall in London, our Managing Director, Ben Hillary, sat down with members of EFET – the European Federation of Energy Traders for some interesting discussions.

In the first of the series, Doug Wood, Chair of the Gas Committee at EFET joined Ben for a fascinating conversation about developments of markets for bio methane and hydrogen, the fit for 55 package and energy security requirements.

Maria Popova, Director, Market Integrity and Renewable Electricity at EFET, joined Ben to discuss decarbonisation under the present challenging circumstances, renewable energy and market impacts

Ben discusses how the current political landscape has affected energy trading, liquidity in European markets, security of supply and market design in a fascinating interview with Mark Copley, the CEO of EFET.

Ben was also joined by Nataliya Askerova, Communication Coordinator at EFET for an interesting conversation about price volatility, post-trade automation, decarbonisation and why events such as Energy Trading Week are so important.
